Nagpur: Two youths were murdered for different reasons over a period of 12 hours on Tuesday making it a frantic day for the city police. In first incident, a gang of four people killed 23-year-old Clinth Hale for allegedly having an affair with a woman of their vicinity. In the other that took place at Dhantoli, a 21-year-old lost his life while trying to resolve differences between two groups.
Hale was repeatedly stabbed to death in front of his girlfriend Arti Shastri late on Tuesday at Bhupesh Nagar in Gittikhadan. Hale, a resident of New Rathod layout, worked as a manager at a reputed salon at Sadar.
On Shastri’s complaint, Gittikhadan police arrested Pankaj Thakur, Baldeo Sharma, Rajesh Tiwari and Balram Sinha. Interestingly, police said that Shastri’s family had no objection with Hale’s affair with her.
Hale had gone to meet Shastri on Tuesday at 10pm when Thakur and his friends picked up a quarrel and asked him to leave the area immediately. Shastri told police that earlier too the murderers had picked up a quarrel with Hale and had warned him of dire consequences.
Later, Hale went to meet his friends Vijay Jadhav and Rohit Tiwari who resided in the vicinity. “While returning home, Hale again went to meet Shastri. Both were chatting near her home when Thakur and his friends came on two bikes and attacked Hale with sharp weapons,” informed police.
Tiwari and Jadhav who were following Hale to ensure his safety attempted to save their friend. Thakur and others attacked the duo too. Hale was stabbed to death while Tiwari and Jadhav suffered serious injuries. Both are undergoing treatment at
Mayo hospital.
The murderers fled before the police could reach the spot. They were arrested by Wednesday afternoon.
The Dhantoli police have arrested a man and his two sons for allegedly killing Shailesh Kangale, a resident of Rahul Nagar, on Wednesday afternoon. As per police information, Narendra Gaikwad and his sons Kartik and Pawan had an old rivalry with Jitendra Dupare.
Dupare had come to attend the last rites of a relative at Rahul Nagar when Gaikwad and his sons surrounded him. The trio were carrying sharp weapons. Learning about the danger, Dupare’s father Sudarshan too reached the spot.
“It was a clash between Gaikwad and Dupare which Kangale was trying to resolve. Gaikwad and his sons slit Kangale with a sharp weapon,” said police.
Eye-witnesses rushed the Dupare father-son duo and Kangale to Government Medical College and Hospital. Kangale was declared brought dead by the doctors. Police said that the deceased had a love marriage just one-and-half months and was staying at a rented room at Rahul Nagar.
